Heyoka's jewelry is created with a fabrication technique, the way in which ancient jewelers constructed their pieces. Sheets of metal are cut with a special jeweler's hand saw then the different parts of the design are soldered together. This allows Heyoka to incorporate different kinds of metals into one necklace. Heyoka prefers to use pure 24 karat gold, silver, and electrum (an alloy of pure gold & silver) in his pieces. Many different gemstones are used and often the gems are carved with spinning diamond tips. Each artwork is signed and taken into a ceremony by Heyoka. |
