Moon Goddess/Man in the Moon
Many ancient cultures saw the Moon Goddess as the Creatress who brooded over the sea until she brought forth Heaven and Earth. The ancient peoples also celebrated the sacred balance of both genders, as the word diety (meaning two) suggests. Sometimes the moon was honored as Man in the Moon.
